17 Nov 2007: Lisbon St Antonys 10-1 Altrincham FC (HT 4-0) - league cup

Today we played Altringham in our final game of the league cup competition, we only needed to draw to make the final, but as always we played for the win.

The first fifteen minutes saw Lisbon miss five easy chances to score, but we all knew the pressure would soon pay off and after 18 minutes Lisbon scored their first goal, 1-0. Then Hanifa scored the most brilliant 2^nd goal, after wining the ball just outside the her own area, she beat 3 Altringham players and ran 70 yards to score with her left foot. The first half finished with Lisbon winning the game 4 - 0. I almost forgot to mention the great first half performance of Beth, helping Lisbon to keep Altringham at bay in the first half .

The second half was another great performance with Jess, Fred , Ria and Hanifa scoring six more goals between them. The highlight being for me, Lisbon defending a corner and the ball falls to Hanifa, she then passes to Whitby who then played the ball straight back to Hanifa, who then takes a touch and passes to Jess, she then beats the defender for pace and scores past the keeper. A great team goal, another good point was scoring from a corner - well done.
